When finding the equation of a line you take two points and find the slope. For example, if the points are (2,1) and (4,5) you would use the equation y2-y1 divided by x2-x1. so the the equation would look like this 5-1/4-2 which equals 4/2. This would simplify to just 2, therefore the slope of this line is 2. The next step is putting this into point slope form. This looks like y-y1=m(x-x1). So when plugging the numbers in it would look like this y-1=2(x-2). After distributing the equation would look like y-1=2x-4. Then I add 1 too both sides and I get y=2x-3.
