The most important question about these chapters is, why would Huck take the chance of going back into his own town? Just because he dressed up like a girl doesn't mean people won't recognize him. If they were smart they would have just got on their raft and floated to the next town. Also, where does Huck get the money for the meal and bacon he buys? Unless I missed a part where he gets a whole bunch of money I'm pretty sure he had no money. Finally, why would Huck no have the common sense to get off that abandoned boat after hearing those men? When you're on the lamb you can't take chances like that.
Something I take away from these chapters is that Huck and Jim don't exactly have a plan yet. They are just going slow and stopping every now and then to get food instead of actually aiming to go somewhere and be free. Speaking of being free, it almost seems as they are completely free because I feel as if someone would have came looking for Jim by now. Maybe they just gave up on him though. Lastly, I have found out that Huck doesn't have an ounce of fear in his body. This kid is so young but still manages to steal a skiff from murderers.
Something that I like about this is that the "Adventures" of these two are really coming out, the plot has gotten a lot more interesting. However, I don't like that Jim is such a baby about everything. He's always so scared and worried, which he has a right to be because he's a run away slave but if he was too scared to run away then he should have just stayed at the Widows.
