First of all, who is Solomon and why do they argue about him in such detail? That was honestly just a waste of a chapter if you ask me. Secondly, what is a towhead? Because all throughout chapter 15 I had no clue what Huck was talking about. I understand that the fog made him lost from Jim, but other than that I was pretty confused. Adding to that, why was Jim so upset when Huck tried to fool him? He really over reacted, and he obviously can't take a joke. So he's a lot like the people in today's society. Lastly, why did Huck light up his lantern when they saw the ferry boat? They knew it would come towards them and then it just destroyed their raft.
Something about these two that I take away is that they are way too superstitious. They think that the snakeskin is really causing them all this bad luck which is stupid. Everyone has bad luck every once in a while, it's life. Also, Huck has a hard conscience. What I mean by that is he is thinking too much about how Jim is a runaway slave. He should just get over the fact and get on with life and keep helping Jim.
I didn't really get into these chapters. I found them quite boring because they just talked about Solomon and Jim was all upset and scared and then he got so excited about Cario and then it just ended with their canoe being stolen and raft being destroyed. However, I know that there has to be conflict in the book so I am glad that they ran into some trouble because so far they have had it way to easy.
